Verde Solar Power was the first in Arizona to use the new SolarEdge inverter system with its next-generation smart module design. Because it is a distributed design with special converter modules attached to each PV panel, the system is 5% more efficient (up to 25% in shady applications) than old style inverters and has the safety feature of shutting down the high-voltage roof power when the system needs to be shut down. The system includes web connection in all models and is competitive in cost with anything on the market. We like it most however, for the great flexibility it gives our designs. Any number of PV panels, even odd numbers, can be connected and – more panels can be added to the system at a later date without having to match the original type.
With traditional inverters, the weakest panel reduces the performance of all panels. With SolarEdge, each panel produces the maximum energy, and power losses are eliminated. A SolarEdge system produces 2%-25% more energy from a PV system.
